A virtual meter can either be used to link two meters together (enabling the user to view information from both meters in a single location), or to assign a weighting of a physical meter (i.e. the user might want to track and assign 20% of the building's consumption to a specific department e.g. Marketing). One virtual meter has the ability to be linked to multiple physical meters.
